ABOUT ME

Martin 'Jeff' Toonstra, MS, LP, (LP3523) has been a Minnesota Licensed Psychologist since 1996. He has provided professional psychological services in various settings, including county Child Protection Services and Children’s Day Treatment, Outpatient Mental Health, and has been in Private Practice since 2007. He has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of diagnoses and severity of illnesses. Jeff has served as a Clinical Director for an outpatient mental health center and an Adjunct Psychology Instructor for a Community College and University.
Jeff was formally trained in Applied Behavior Analysis, which lends itself well to diagnosis and treatment planning. He had brought Dialectical Behavior Therapy into his community.
Jeff’s interests and expertise includes providing individual, family and couple psychotherapy to children, adolescent and adults. He provides psychological evaluations and testing services including for pre-surgical bariatric surgery, developmental disability services and personnel selection. He continues to provide individual DBT therapy.
In Jeff’s free time, he enjoys cycling, sailing, and backpacking, and spending time with his family.
